Alternative class craft day!! オルタナティブクラスのクラフトの日！

Just as the Egyptian curriculum is coming to an end, what better way to celebrate the rich culture and history of Egypt than by making Pharoah headdresses!

エジプトの学習単元が終了に近づく中、その豊かな文化と歴史を楽しく学ぶ方法として、ファラオのヘッドドレス作りに取り組みました。

The headdress was worn like a crown by the ruler of Egypt, traditionally they were made from fabric, sadly we only had paper card at our disposal. The kids had a blast making these though and the coloring was perhaps the best part!

ヘッドドレスは、古代エジプトの王が王冠のように身につけていたもので、もともとは布で作られていました。今回は紙を使って製作しましたが、子どもたちはとても楽しそうに取り組んでおり、特に色塗りの時間が大好評でした。

We began by cutting out the shapes. This delicate procedure had to be completed with precision to ensure the students retained the correct shape of the headdress, of course the students all excelled here.

まずはヘッドドレスの形を丁寧に切り取る作業から始めました。形を正確に保つために集中力が必要でしたが、どの児童も落ち着いて取り組み、見事に完成させていました。

Next came the coloring. The traditional style is gold and blue, but we wanted the students to express their individuality and unique styles, so we let the students go crazy with any style and color they wished. Once the coloring was done, it was time to decorate with stickers! We had a range of stickers from boys, all the way to stars! The students made some great designs!

次は色塗りです。本来は金色と青色が伝統的な配色ですが、今回は子どもたち一人ひとりの個性を大切にし、自由に好きな色やスタイルで塗ってもらいました。色塗りの後はステッカーで飾り付け！星形やキャラクターなど、さまざまなステッカーを使って、それぞれがユニークなデザインを仕上げていました。

The last step involved gluing everything together. This is where the individual pieces all came together to truly show off their hard work. The students taken their time and worked hard to make something they were proud of, and us teachers were proud of their work too.

最後に、すべてのパーツを貼り合わせて仕上げに入りました。ここでは、これまでの工程で頑張った成果が一つの形となり、それぞれの作品に子どもたちの努力がしっかりと表れていました。児童たちは時間をかけて丁寧に作業し、自分の作品に誇りを持っていました。私たち教員も、子どもたちの頑張りをとても誇らしく感じました。
