Christmas Craft Day!

Our Christmas Craft Day was filled with creativity, smiles, and plenty of festive cheer! This year, we enjoyed two different craft activities. Our kindergarten students made their very own Santa Clauses, while our elementary school students designed beautiful Christmas cards. Christmas crafts are always a favorite, and it was wonderful to see everyone having so much fun creating together.

クリスマスクラフトデーは、創造力と笑顔、そしてたくさんのクリスマスの雰囲気に包まれた楽しい一日となりました。今年は2つのクラフト活動を行いました。幼稚園の生徒たちはサンタクロースを作り、小学生の生徒たちは素敵なクリスマスカードをデザインしました。クリスマスのクラフトはいつも大人気で、みんなが楽しそうに一緒に作っている姿がとても印象的でした。

For our younger students, we began by practicing vocabulary related to Santa’s design, including colors, body parts, and clothing. Once the students felt confident with the vocabulary, it was time to start crafting! We used red card for Santa’s body, white doilies for his beard, pom-poms for his hat and nose, and googly eyes to bring him to life. Each Santa was wonderfully unique, and the students were excited to take their creations home just in time for Christmas.

年少の生徒たちは、まず色や体の部分、服など、サンタクロースのデザインに関する英単語の練習から始めました。単語をしっかり理解した後、いよいよクラフト作りです。赤い画用紙で体を作り、白いレースペーパーでひげを表現し、ポンポンで帽子と鼻を、そして動く目を使ってサンタクロースを完成させました。それぞれ個性あふれるサンタが出来上がり、クリスマスに間に合うように嬉しそうに持ち帰りました。

Our elementary school students worked on making Christmas cards, with two different designs depending on their age. Students in Grades 1 and 2 chose who they wanted to write their card to, wrote “Merry Christmas,” and signed their names. Older students, in Grades 3 and above, selected a special message to share, such as “I wish you happiness,” “I wish you strength,” or “I wish you good grades.” After writing their messages, everyone decorated the front of their cards with a cute Christmas tree made from colorful tape.

小学生の生徒たちは、年齢に合わせて2種類のデザインのクリスマスカードを作りました。1・2年生は、カードを渡す相手を決め、「Merry Christmas」と書き、自分の名前を書きました。3年生以上の生徒たちは、「幸せを願っています」「強さを願っています」「良い成績が取れますように」など、伝えたいメッセージを選びました。メッセージを書いた後は、色とりどりのテープを使って、かわいいクリスマスツリーをカードの表に飾りました。

All our students worked incredibly hard and created Christmas designs they could be proud of. So much effort, creativity, and care went into each piece, and we truly loved seeing the results. Now it’s almost time for the real Santa to visit our homes! We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a joyful holiday season.

どの生徒も一生懸命取り組み、自分たちが誇れる素敵なクリスマス作品を完成させました。一つひとつの作品にたくさんの努力と工夫が詰まっていて、私たちも完成した作品を見るのがとても嬉しかったです。もうすぐ本物のサンタさんがみなさんのお家にやってきますね！皆さまにとって、素敵なクリスマスと楽しいホリデーシーズンになりますように。
