Family Week!

Last week at Bowers was family week! We wanted the kids to show their appreciation to all members of the family, whether that be mom, dad, grandma, grandpa or even their pet hamster!

先週バワーズでは、子どもたちに、お母さん、お父さん、おばあちゃん、おじいちゃん、そしてペットのハムスターまで、家族全員に感謝の気持ちを伝えてほしいと思い、ファミリーウィークを行いました！

We ran two different activities based on the age of the children; kindergarten grades 1-3 and elementary grades 1 crafted beautifully colored tulips and elementarygrades 2-6 created thank you cards in a variety of styles.

子どもたちの年齢に合わせて、2種類の工作を行いました。2歳児～小学校1年生は綺麗な色のチューリップを作り、小学校2～6年生は様々なスタイルのサンキューカードを作りました。

First, let’s talk about the tulips. As you can see, they were a hit with the kids, featuring stunning blends of vibrant colors such as red, pink, blue and purple for the petals with light or dark green for the leaves and stems. We had an excellent time putting these together.

As you can see from their faces, the children were very excited to give these flowers to the family members of their choice.

まずはチューリップについてお話しましょう。

ご覧の通り、子どもたちに大人気でした。赤、ピンク、青、紫といった鮮やかな色の花びらに、薄緑や濃い緑といった葉と茎を組み合わせたチューリップです。私たちも子供達と一緒にこの工作ができてとても楽しかったです。

子どもたちの表情からもわかるように、家族にこの花を渡すのをとても楽しみに、集中して作業に取り組んでいました。

Next, for the older students, we created a thank you card. Again, the children were able to choose who they wanted to address their card to, some even choosing to address their card to the whole family. First, the children chose what color card they wanted to make,

next they wrote a special message for their family, explaining why they love them. Finally, they decorated the front of the card. Each student used their own unique style and thought process to create one of a kind cards!

次に、高学年の生徒たちはサンキューカードを作りました。子どもたちはカードの宛名を自由に選ぶことができ、中には家族全員に宛名を書く子もいました。まず、子どもたちは作りたい色のカードを選び、次に家族への特別なメッセージを書き、なぜ家族を愛しているのかを説明しました。最後に、カードの表側をデコレーションして完成！生徒たちはそれぞれ独自のスタイルと創造力で、世界に一つだけのカードを作りました！

It had been a great, heart-warming week with the students creating these magical gifts for their family. Watching them take their time crafting, ensuring their flowers or cards met their own personal expectations was amazing. They were all great artists! I’m sure they are all looking forward to the next craft day!

生徒たちが家族のために魔法のような贈り物を作る、心温まる素晴らしい一週間でした。生徒たちが時間をかけて、花やカードがそれぞれの期待に応えられるように、作品作りに取り組んでいる姿は、本当に素晴らしかったです。みんな素晴らしいアーティストでした！きっと次のクラフトデーを楽しみにしていることでしょう！
